Taskin surpasses Rabada, Hazlewood to go on top

Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed achieved a feat after taking two wickets for 51 runs in the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium today.


Taskin has the best economy in ODIs among pacers who have bowled at least 150 overs since January 1, 2023.

In this period Taskin has taken 46 wickets in 27 innings at an excellent economy rate of 4.87. In an era where batters bashing bowlers at will in flat wicket, Taskin is the only pacer in this period to keep his economy rate under 5 in this period. 

New Zealand pacer Matt Henry, who is second on the list, has taken 49 wickets in 26 innings during this period. However, he is behind Taskin in terms of economy (5.15).

South Africa's Kagiso Rabada is third on the list. The Proteas star has taken 33 wickets in 19 innings at an economy of 5.32. Australian star Josh Hazlewood has taken 30 wickets in 22 innings at an economy of 5.38, reports BSS.
