Dhaka, 27 March - Just a day after being released from the Test team to accommodate Shakib Al Hasan, Towhid Hridoy struck a belligerent century to lead Abahani Limited to a comprehensive 140-run victory against Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah today.

This was Abahani's sixth straight league victory in which they led the table as the only unbeaten team so far.

Put into bat first, Abahani compiled a hefty 320-4 with Hriody making the
carnage with a whirlwind 84 ball-125 not out, a knock laced with 11 fours and six sixes.

Jaker Ali Anik, however, provided the platform for the late onslaught with 78 off 95, smashing three fours and five sixes.

Hridoy and skipper Mosaddek Hossain Saikat then hammered 87 runs from just 48 balls in their undefeated fifth wicket stand to propel the side past the 300-run mark.

Saikat was unbeaten on 43 off 26 after hitting four fours and two sixes.

In reply, Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club were bowled out for 180 in 43.2 overs with Nahidul Islam (3-37) and Saikat (3-3) snapping up three wickets apiece.
