Dhaka, 2 Nov - Al-Amin Hossain Junior hit a century and Asaduzzaman Payel claimed his maiden five-wicket haul to star on Day 3 of the fifth round of National Cricket League today.

Mymensingh vs Khulna

Mymensingh all-rounder Al Amin Junior struck his fifth first-class century, scoring 102 against Khulna in the NCL.

By doing so, he once again proved to be a thorn in Khulna's side, repeating his century-scoring feat against the same opponents from last season. However, unlike his previous unbeaten 102, the right-handed batter was dismissed this time after producing a fighting second innings knock.

Following on, Mymensingh reached 315-9 at stumps on Day 3 at Khulna Divisional Stadium, still trailing Khulna by 135 runs.

Resuming the day at 57-2, Mymensingh suffered a quick collapse, losing two more wickets after adding just five runs. Al Amin then steadied the innings with Abdul Majid, who scored 59, putting together a 116-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Al Amin struck 10 boundaries in his 185-ball innings but had to retire temporarily on 101 due to cramps. He returned after the fall of the eighth wicket but was eventually dismissed for one off two balls by off-spinner Sheikh Parvez, who claimed his fourth wicket of the innings.

Mymensingh drew their match against Khulna last season, and another closely contested finish remains possible on the final day.

Chattogram vs Sylhet

Chattogram moved within 101 runs of victory against Sylhet after reaching 126-4 at stumps on the third day while chasing a target of 227 at Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.

Opener Sadiqur Rahman remained unbeaten on 58, while Shah Paran was not out on 51.

Sylhet, resuming their second innings at 89-2, were bowled out for 218, the same total they had managed in their first innings. Tofail Ahmed contributed 47 from number nine to take Sylhet past the 200-run mark after the side lost seven wickets for 139 runs during the day.

Amit Hasan, who was recently called up to Bangladesh's squad for the second Test against the West Indies, scored 20 after making 34 in the first innings.

Chattogram's left-arm spinner once again proved effective, taking four wickets in the second innings to match his first-innings tally.

 Rajshahi vs Rangpur

Rajshahi pacer Asaduzzaman Payel finally registered his first five-wicket haul in first class cricket, taking 5-64 against Rangpur at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura.

Playing his 20th first-class match, Payel achieved the milestone as Rangpur were bowled out for 256 after resuming the day at 122 for three.

Opener Anik Sarkar top-scored with 75, while Iqbal Hossain contributed 70 from number five.

Rajshahi, who conceded a 25-run first-innings lead, reached 110-3 in their second innings at stumps, extending their overall lead to 85 runs.

 Dhaka vs Barishal

The Dhaka-Barishal match at Rajshahi Divisional Stadium finally began on Day 3 after wet outfield conditions prevented any play during the first two days.

The delay was caused by a damp outfield rather than rain, leaving players from both sides confined to their dressing rooms.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Barishal reached 266-8 at stumps, with wicketkeeper Mohammad Abdullah leading the scoring with an unbeaten 62.BSS
