Jeddah, 11 December, 2024 - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has firmly condemned the ongoing and escalating Israeli military operations in Syrian territory, particularly the targeting of critical infrastructure. These actions encompass the unlawful expansion of occupation in the buffer zone of the Golan Heights, as well as the occupation of Mount Hermon and segments of the city of Quneitra. The General Secretariat deems these actions to be grave violations of international law and pertinent United Nations resolutions. It emphasizes the imperative to uphold the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as to ensure the preservation of its security and stability.

The OIC General Secretariat expressed its unequivocal support for the Syrian people and emphasized the importance of honoring their political decisions. It urged all political entities to prioritize the Syrian people's overarching interests, focusing on the preservation of both human and national resources. The statement advocates for the advancement of the political transition process through peaceful and secure means, aiming to restore the Syrian Arab Republic's institutional integrity, territorial sovereignty, and regional standing. – OIC News
