Jeddah, 15-09-2025 -The Joint Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit convened today, Monday, 15 September 2025, in Doha, under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, with the participation of Their Majesties, Excellencies, and Highnesses, the Leaders of Arab and Islamic States, to discuss the repercussions of the brutal Israeli attack on the State of Qatar and to reaffirm full solidarity with Qatar.
At the opening session of the Summit, H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), delivered an address in which he expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, for hosting the work of the Summit, and conveyed the OIC’s full solidarity with the State of Qatar in the aftermath of the brutal Israeli aggression. He stressed that this attack requires a unified and resolute stance from the Arab and Islamic States.
The Secretary-General expressed the Cooperation’s full support for all measures taken by the State of Qatar to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability, and renewedhis call on the international community, in particular the United Nations Security Council, to shoulder its responsibilities to ensure that Israel is held accountable for all its crimes, compelled to end its grave and continuing aggressions in the region, and to respect international law.
The Secretary-General emphasized that the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar constitutes an extension of Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people, their land, and their holy sites. He called for strengthening the efforts of the international community to bring about a ceasefire, to ensure sufficient and sustained delivery of humanitarian assistance throughout the Gaza Strip, and for the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces.
On this occasion, His Excellency expressed the OIC’s support for the outcomes of the International Conference on the Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the implementation of the two-State solution, enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights, including the right to self-determination, and to establish sovereignty over their State within the borders of 4 June 1967 with East Al-Quds as its capital. He affirmed that the outcomes of this Summit will reinforce Arab and Islamic solidarity with the State of Qatar and unify their positions and efforts in confronting the current challenges. positions and efforts in confronting the current challenges. – OIC News
