India's Bivor Adak takes solo lead

Dhaka, 17 Dec - Bivor Adak of India took solo lead in the points table with maximum three points after the third round of MTB International Masters Chess tournament held at multipurpose hall of Independent University, Bangladesh Wednesday. 

International Master (IM) Manon Reja Neer closely followed the lead 2.5 
points while IM Md Minhaz Uddin, FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid and FIDE Master 
(FM) Gurpreet Pal Singh of India shared the third position with two points.

In the day's third round matches, Bivor Adak played against his compatriot 
Arpan Das (junior) with the white pieces and faced Arpan Das's Caro-Kann 
Defense and won after 27 moves.

IM Manon Reja Neer defeated FM Gurpreet Pal Singh of India while playing with 
the white pieces, faced FIDE Master Gurpreet Pal Singh's French Defense. 

The game followed a classical variation system and IM Manon Reja Neer won 
after 47 moves.

FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid defeated FM Khandaker Aminul Islam while playing 
with the black pieces, faced FM Khandakar Aminul Islam's English Opening and 
won after 65 moves.

IM Md. Minhaz Uddin defeated Nepal's Candidate Master (CM) Silwal Purushottam 
while playing with the black pieces, adopted the Petrov's Defense and won 
after 53 moves.

IM Abu Sufian Shakil defeated Amit Bikram Roy while playing with the black 
pieces, faced Amit Bikram Roy's King's Indian Attack system and won after 45 
moves.

The fourth round games of the tournament will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at 
the same venue.BSS
