WFM Noshin takes solo lead after 9th round

Dhaka, 26 Nov  - WFM Noshin Anjum of Bangladesh Navy now took solo lead in the points table with seven points after the ninth round games of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib 41st National Women's Chess Championship now being held at the Chess Federation hall-room.

WIM Rani Hamid of Bangladesh Ansar following the leader closely with 6.5 points while WFM Nazrana Khan Eva of Manikganj and Nusrat Jahan Alo of Bangladesh Police jointly shared the third position with 5.5 points.

Kazi Zarin Tasnim and Wadifa Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy jointly shared the fourth position with five points.

The ninth round matches held today (Saturday) with WFM Noshin beat Wadifa, WIM Rani Hamid split point with Khusbu, WFM Eva drew with Alo, Zarin split point with her teammate WCM Ahmed Walijah, reigning woman champion WCM Jannatul Ferdous won against Sabiha Marjana of Rajshahi Division and Umme Taslima Protiva Talukder of Bogura beat Tasnia Tarannum Orpa. 

The tenth or penultimate round games will be held Sunday at the same venue.
