Fahad shares second position after 5th round

Dhaka, 3 Sept - Bangladesh International Master (IM) Mohammad Fahad Rahman jointly shares the second position with 10 other players after the fifth round of the 21st Dato' Arthur Tan Malaysia Open Chess Championship, currently being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Fahad has earned four points from five games, while another Bangladeshi IM, Manon Reja Neer, has collected three points from as many games. The fourth and fifth rounds of the championship were held on Wednesday.

In the fourth round, Fahad defeated Vietnamese Grandmaster (GM) Nguyen Dak Hoa, while Manon Reja Neer beat Indian IM K. Ratnakaran. In the fifth round, Fahad drew with Singaporean GM Siddharth Jagadeesh, while Manon Reja Neer shared the point with Indian FIDE Master Gajwa Ankit.BSS
