Salman Shah, one of Bangladesh’s most popular film stars, died on September 6, 1996. His death has remained the subject of controversy and speculation for decades, particularly over the circumstances surrounding it.
Nearly 29 years after his death, a court last year ordered that a murder case be filed over Salman Shah’s death.
In October last year, Alamgir Kumkum, on behalf of Salman Shah’s mother, Neela Chowdhury, filed the case with Ramna Police Station in Dhaka.
A total of 11 people were named as accused, including Salman Shah’s former wife, Samira Haque; actor Don; Samira’s mother, Latifa Haque Lucy; businessman Aziz Mohammad Bhai; and several others identified as David, Javed, Faruk, Ruby, A. Sattar, Saju and Rezvi Ahmed alias Farhad, reports BSS.
The case is currently being investigated by the CID. The court has set August 30 as the deadline for submission of the investigation report.
