A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been

signed between the Department of Public Administration of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) and Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC).

The five-year term agreement was signed at the Rectors' Conference Room of BPATC in Savar of Dhaka district on Tuesday, said a BRUR press release here this afternoon.

Head of the Department of Public Administration of BRUR Muhammad Mujahidul Islam and Member of the Board of Directors of BPATC Joint Secretary Dr Md Mohsin Ali signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Vice-chancellor (VC) of the university Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali and the Rector of BPATC Sayeed Mahbub Khan.

Under this MOU, joint research activities, developmental training arrangements, faculty exchange and expert level knowledge exchange activities will be conducted between both institutions.

In addition, final year honors and masters students of the Department of Public Administration of the university will get the opportunity to do field attachment at BPATC once a year.

Through this, students will directly gain hands-on experience in training activities and administrative management.

Speaking at the event, the VC said that there is no alternative to skilled and professional manpower in building a self-reliant Bangladesh.

"Through this MoU, students of Public Administration Department will get the opportunity to come into direct contact with the country's top training institutions," he said.

Along with theoretical knowledge, professional administrative activities, training methods and field level experience will play a leading role in making students successful in their careers.

"This bridge between industry and academia will be a milestone in improving the quality of higher education," he added.

Associate Prof of the Department of Public Administration Md Zubair Ibne
