Two-day int'l education expo in city from August 7

The two-day fair, a flagship international education event, will be held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel to bring together education consultants, international university representatives, students, and stakeholders under one platform.

The education exposition will feature digital innovations, including online stall booking systems, integrated digital payment solutions, and ICT-enabled support services to ensure smooth operations and enhanced participant experience.

Students attending the fair will have the opportunity to interact directly with representatives of universities from different countries and receive guidance on scholarships, financial aid, tuition fees, visa processing and career planning, according to the organisers.

The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 8:00pm on both days. Entry will be free for visitors, although prior registration will be required.

The details of the event were announced at a press conference in the national press club on Monday. FACD-CAB Senior Vice President and Convener of the 14th International Education Fair Mohammad Bashir Ahmmed presented the key features of the education fair.

This year the fair will bring together representatives from 30 countries to provide consultancy services for around 300 world-class educational institutions around the world.

Foreign Minister Shama Obaed Islam is expected to inaugurate the two-day event, while State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Haque Nur is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the press conference, FACD-CAB President Zulfikar Ali Jewel urged the government to introduce a transparent regulatory framework for the education consultancy sector.

“We urgently need a clear and transparent policy for this sector in Bangladesh,” he said, adding that a transparent policy is essential to protect students seeking overseas education opportunities from financial loss or fraud, reports UNB.
