147 Diploma Institutes Face Notices Over Deficiencies
The Bangladesh Technical Education Board (Bangladesh Technical Education Board) has issued show-cause notices to 147 diploma-level educational institutions across the country, asking why their teaching approvals should not be cancelled or withdrawn due to prolonged failure to enroll students.
The information was disclosed in a letter signed today by Md Al Masud Karim, Inspector (Additional Charge) and Secretary of the Board.
According to the notice, institutions offering Diploma in Engineering, Diploma in Textile, and Diploma in Agriculture programmes that have not enrolled any students for a prolonged period have been asked to submit satisfactory explanations by June 18.
They have also been asked to explain why their admission activities should not be suspended from the 2026-27 academic session and why their teaching authorisation should not be cancelled or withdrawn.
The Board said that among the 147 institutions served with show-cause notices, 120 offer Diploma in Engineering programmes, 12 offer Diploma in Textile programmes, and 15 offer Diploma in Agriculture programmes.
The Board further warned that if the institutions fail to submit satisfactory explanations within the deadline, administrative action will be taken in accordance with existing policy.
