Dhaka, Friday, 27 February 2026: BRAC Bank has hosted ‘TARA Uddokta Mela 2026’, a three-day fair to promote locally made products by women entrepreneurs and create a market for them.

Inaugurated 27 February 2026, the fair will remain open to the public until March 1, 2026, every day from 10:00am to 11:00pm. The event takes place at the Aloki Convention Centre, Tejgaon-Gulshan Link Road. Following the resounding success of previous editions, this marks the fourth edition of the TARA Uddokta Mela, reflecting BRAC Bank’s continued pursuit to support women entrepreneurs nationwide.

On 27 February 2026, Meheriar M. Hasan, Chairperson of BRAC Bank, officially inaugurated the fair at the Aloki Convention Centre. Lila Rashid and Anita Ghazi Rahman, Independent Directors of BRAC Bank, were present at the ceremony.

Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank, and Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking, attended the ceremony.

A total of 88 women entrepreneurs from across Bangladesh have participated in the fair, showcasing a wide range of locally crafted products. Many of these entrepreneurs represent the manufacturing sector, playing a vital role in preserving traditional craftsmanship and advancing inclusive economic growth. As in previous years, BRAC Bank has provided stall facilities free of charge, enabling participants to present their products and expand their market reach.

The exhibition features an extensive collection of Bangladeshi products, including boutique and hand-stitched apparel, handmade crafts, clay and jute items, leather goods, Jamdani and Muslin attire, organic skincare products, bamboo and rattan items, and a variety of traditional foods. Visitors can also enjoy dedicated Iftar and dinner food courts, creating a festive and engaging environment ahead of Eid.

To promote digital financial inclusion, BRAC Bank has enabled seamless QR code- based digital payments across all stalls, helping women entrepreneurs transition into a cashless ecosystem. Customers are also enjoying discounts of up to 20% on purchases made through QR payments during the fair.

The TARA Uddokta Mela provides a powerful platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their innovation, preserve cultural heritage of Bangladesh, and connect with new customers during the peak Eid shopping season.
