A day-long colorful roadshow, seminar and stall exhibition were held in Faridpur district on 12 October 2025, Sunday marking the “Cashless Bangladesh Initiative Expansion Campaign,” organized by Bangladesh Bank in collaboration with Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC. The vibrant rally began at morning from the main gate of Government Rajendra College and concluded at the Bangladesh Shishu Academy.

Following the rally, a seminar was held at the Shishu Academy. Arif Hossain Khan, Executive Director and Spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank, was present as the chief guest.

Rafeza Akter Kanta, Director of the Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank, presided over the event while Engi. Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder, Additional Managing Director of Islami Bank, addressed as special guest. Md. Parwez Anjam Munir, Additional Director of the Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank, demonstrateda video featuring the Governor’s welcome message along with a presentation on the “Cashless Bangladesh” initiative.

Prof. Dr. Dilruba Zeba, Principal of Faridpur Medical College and Md. Tanmoy Islam, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate delivered their speech among the other honored guests. Md. Jahangir Hossain, Executive Officer of Shotonir, Turjo, owner of Campus Café, and small entrepreneur Shahidul Islam Mansur shared their experiences among the clients. Executives and officials of  alls of 17 Bangla-QR affiliated banks on the Govt. Rajendra College campus.

In his speech, the chief guest emphasized, “If all transactions can be made digitally, our need for cash will decrease, and life will become easier.” He urged everyone to help spread the message of building a cashless Bangladesh among the general public. – Press release
