New BB Rep Will Work to Restore Islami Bank to Its Former Glory

The newly appointed representative in Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has started working with renewed vigor to re-establish the bank as a symbol of public trust and confidence. “Our primary goal is to reinstate this bank to its glorious past position by protecting depositors’ interests, improving service quality, and boosting regular operations.” Mohammad Zahir Hossain, the newly appointed sole representative of the bank’s Board of Directors said this in a press conference on June 15, 2026.

He added, “According to the Companies Act, depositors are the most critical stakeholders of the bank alongside shareholders. The bank’s operations run on their deposited money.

Therefore, our primary responsibility is to safeguard depositors' interests, maintain their trust, and ensure top-quality banking services.”

He stated, “A new journey begins for Islami Bank today. We are determined to restore the bank’s reputation, transparency, and professionalism. As a hub of trust and expectation for millions of people in the country, Islami Bank will continue to play a vital role in the future.”

He further noted that the Board of Directors will provide the necessary policy guidelines to keep the bank’s overall operations normal and stable. There will be no interference in the bank’s daily operations, and transactions will continue as usual. Customers have no reason to be anxious.
