The government has officially upgraded Cox’s Bazar Airport to an international airport through a gazette notification.

The notification, signed by Ahmed Jamil, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, was issued on Sunday.

Under the powers granted by Sub-rule (1) of Rule 16 of the Civil Aviation Rules, 1984, the government has formally designated the facility as Cox’s Bazar International Airport.
