Emirates Named Best International Airline for 2024

Emirates has been crowned Best International Airline, while US-Bangla Airlines won Best Domestic Airline, and Saudia Cargo received the Best Cargo Airline title at the ShareTrip–Monitor Airline of the Year 2024 awards, held on Saturday at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka.

The winners were selected based on feedback from over 3,000 frequent travellers in an online survey. Airlines received Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophies across a record 23 award categories.

In a special tribute, Taufiq Uddin Ahmed, Founder and Chairman of Galaxy Bangladesh, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to the growth of Bangladesh’s travel industry.

Md Fahimul Islam, Secretary of the Ministry of Railways, attended as chief guest. Other notable speakers included Prof Dr M Sadiqul Islam, Chairman of the Jury Committee; Sadia Haque, Co-Founder and CEO of ShareTrip; Mohammad Saiful Hoque, Country General Manager and CEO of Sabre Bangladesh; and Asif Ahmed, Acting General Manager of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka.

This year’s edition introduced new categories such as Most Popular Airline Brands in Bangladesh, recognising 12 airlines. The Best Airport Lounge category also returned, with MTB Air Lounge winning Gold, followed by EBL SkyLounge (Silver) and City Bank Amex Lounge (Bronze).

An 11-member independent jury panel, comprising experts from various sectors, reviewed and validated the survey results before finalising the winners.
