Mourning rally brought out in Kalapara on Monday

Patuakhali: On the occasion of the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Kalapara of Patuakhali, high quality food was distributed among the poor and helpless disabled people. On Monday (August 15) afternoon, Member of Standing Committee on Defense Ministry of Jatiya Sangsad, Md. Mohibbur Rahman MP, distributed the packaged food at Kalapara Municipal premises as the chief guest. Municipal Mayor Bipul Chandra Hawladar, Panel Mayor Md. Humayun Kabir, District Awami League Senior Vice President Principal Syed Nasir Uddin, Municipal Councilor Md.

Mahbub Alam, Women Councilor Rozina Akhter, Umm Tamima Bithi and others were present at the time.

Earlier, at 7:30 am, MP Mohib hoisted the national flag at half-mast at the party office in support of Upazila Awami League. Wreaths were placed on Bangabandhu's portrait. On the initiative of the upazila administration, a mourning rally was held in the city at 8 am. Later, a discussion meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad meeting and prizes were distributed among the winners of the drawing and writing competition on Bangabandhu.

Besides, a discussion meeting was held at 11 am on the initiative of Kalapara Press Club on National Mourning Day. Journalist Shamsul Alam, Jeeban Kumar Mandal, Ashok Mukherjee, Md. Shariful Haque Shaheen, Advocate Gofran Biswas Palash, Jaseem Parvez and Milan Karmakar Raju spoke at the meeting under the chairmanship of the former president of the press club Mejbah Uddin Mannu.

Meanwhile, the National Mourning Day discussion meeting was held at the Muktijoddha Complex auditorium at 11 am and the discussion meeting and prayers were held at the party office at 5 pm. Principal Md. Mohibbur Rahman MP was present as the chief guest in these events. - Gofran Biswas
