The government has promoted 277 senior assistant secretaries and officials of equivalent rank to the post of deputy secretary.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued two separate notifications on Monday, signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Nur-e-Alam, announcing the promotions.

According to the notifications, the promoted officials have been appointed as deputy secretaries and made officers on special duty (OSDs) at the Ministry of Public Administration.

Of the 277 officials, 262 have been made OSDs at the ministry following their promotion, while 15 officials serving at different missions have been retained in their existing positions.

The orders said officials whose workplaces have changed from those mentioned in the promotion notifications must submit joining letters stating the name and address of their current offices.

The authorities also reserved the right to amend or cancel the promotions if any adverse or contradictory information is subsequently found against any of the officials.

The promoted officials can submit their joining letters directly to the senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration or electronically through the designated email address.

The orders, issued in the public interest, took effect immediately.
