431 held across capital in anti-crime drives

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 431 people in its regular anti-crime drives across the capital and filed 23 cases on Friday, according to a DMP press release issued today.


Among the arrestees, 33 were detained by the Ramna Division, 21 by Lalbagh, 48 by Wari, 34 by Motijheel, 48 by Tejgaon, 135 by Mirpur, 51 by Gulshan, 53 by Uttara and eight by the Detective Branch (DB).

During the operations, police seized 82.5 kilograms of cannabis, 3,256 yaba tablets, 175 bottles of phensedyl, 494.12 grams of gold ornaments, one motorcycle, one pickup truck, one bus and five mobile phones.

Police also rescued one victim during the drives.

The arrests were made during raids conducted in different police station areas across the capital as part of the DMP's ongoing crime prevention operations.

Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are underway, reports BSS.
