Teen killed as motorcycle hits tree on Eid day in Chuadanga

An 18-year-old youth was killed and another injured when a speeding motorcycle lost control and hit a roadside tree in Chuadanga on Eid day

The deceased was identified as Suruj, son of Swapan, a resident of Islampara in Chuadanga Municipal area. The injured, Hridoy, hails from Shmashanpara in the same area.

The accident occurred in front of First Capital University on the Chuadanga–Almadanga road on Saturday afternoon.

Family members said the two youths were out for a ride when their speeding motorcycle went out of control near the university area and hit a tree, leaving both seriously injured on the spot.

Locals rescued them and rushed them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Suruj dead. Hridoy received primary treatment.

Dr Wahed Mahmud Robin, the on-duty physician at the hospital’s emergency department, said Suruj had died before being brought in.

Mizanur Rahman,  Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station, said police were sent to the spot for further investigation, reports UNB.
