Two motorcyclists killed in Munshiganj road crash

Two motorcyclists were killed this afternoon when a passenger bus rammed into their motorcycle on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj.


The accident occurred around 6:00 pm in the Srinagar ferry ghat area of the expressway.

The deceased were identified as Matiur Rahman, 50, son of Mortuza Ali of Kalatia village in Keraniganj upazila. The complete identity of the other victim, Sohel Rana, aged about 40, could not be fully confirmed.

Police said a Dhaka-bound Surovi Paribahan bus from Barishal lost control after entering the Munshiganj area and hit the motorcycle. Motorcycle rider Sohel Rana died on the spot.

Fire service personnel recovered his body from the scene, while critically injured Matiur Rahman was taken to Srinagar Health Complex, where he later succumbed to his injuries, reports BSS. 

The bodies of both victims have been kept at Hasara Highway Police Station, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) ATM Mahmudul Huq of Hasara Highway Police Station.
