11 hurt as 'chander gari' overturns in Bandarban

Eleven tourists were injured when a chander gari overturned at Pepe Bagan area on the Keokradong road in Ruma upazila early today.


Police said two of the injured were in critical condition and were sent to Bandarban Sadar Hospital. 

Locals rushed to the spot immediately after the accident and took the remaining injured passengers to Ruma Upazila Health Complex.

All the injured tourists are residents of Kushtia district. As the area is remote, their identities could not be confirmed instantly.

According to police, the vehicle lost control near the Pepe Bagan area and hit the roadside railing before overturning.

Ruma Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Adnan Chowdhury said the accident occurred while the tourists were travelling from Boga Lake to Keokradong.

Confirming the incident, Ruma Thana Officer-in-Charge Sohrawardi said police rescued the injured and arranged immediate treatment for the two critically wounded victims at Bandarban Sadar Hospital, reports BSS.
