A 24-year-old youth was killed in a road accident at Gulistan Zero Point in the capital early Tuesday.

Md Shahabul, son of Rashid Mia from Soanaighat Nansa village in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur, was a truck driver’s assistant.

Victim’s brother Shamim said his brother was on his way to Rangpur with goods on a truck. As the truck broke down near Gulistan Zero Point, Shahabul got off and went behind the vehicle, when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle, leaving him critically injured.

Shahabul was rushed to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared him dead.

Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of DMCH police camp, said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue, reports UNB.
