In the more serious of the two incidents, eight people lost their lives and 17 others were injured when a Dhaka-bound bus operated by Shyamoli Bangla Paribahan collided head-on with a Mahindra three-wheeler in the Kaziakanda area of Phulpur municipality around 9:00 pm.
Abdul Hadi, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Phulpur Police Station, confirmed the collision and said all the deceased were passengers of the three-wheeler. The injured were taken to Phulpur Upazila Health Complex for treatment.

Zaher Ali (70), Nishuniakanda village
Rakibul Hasan (15), Madipur Sutarpara, Phulpur
Following the incident, Superintendent of Police Kazi Akhtar ul Alam and Phulpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sadia Islam Seema visited the site.
Earlier the same day, around 5:30 pm, three people were killed in a separate head-on collision between an ambulance and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the Ramchandrapur area of Tarakanda upazila.
Tipu Sultan, OC of Tarakanda Police Station, confirmed the fatalities in that accident. The identity of the deceased from the second crash includes:

Police are continuing their investigations into both incidents.
