Two shoppers were killed and 10 other people injured as a speeding truck ploughed into a local market in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Angur Mia, 45, and Md Halim Mia, 60, both hailed from Kalikaprosad union of the upazila.

Locals said the wood-laden truck suddenly entered Akbarnagar Bus Stand Bazar and crashed into two autorickshaws after losing control around 7:30am.

The accident left one of them dead on the spot and 11 others injured, according to them.

Officer-in-Charge of Bhairab Highway Police Station Md Sahabur Rahman said the rest succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital, reports UNB.

The injured were undergoing treatment at local hospitals and clinics, he added.
