Accident on Bagerhat-Khulna Highway claims lives of father, son

Bagerhat, June 22 - What was supposed to be a routine visit to her father's house turned into a nightmare for Minu Begum. A tragic accident on the Bagerhat-Khulna highway at Piljong in Fakirhat upazila today resulted in the deaths of her husband and young son.

The victims were identified as Minu’s husband Khalilur Rahman, 35, and their one-year-old son. 

According to Mizanur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Katakhali Highway Police, the accident occurred around when a bus collided with the motorbike carrying the family, instantly killing Khalilur Rahman and his son. Minu Begum sustained injuries in the accident.

Upon receiving information, police, with the assistance of the local fire service unit, recovered the bodies and sent them to a local hospital morgue. Minu Begum was taken to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex for treatment.

Authorities have seized the bus involved in the accident, but the driver remains at large.-UNB
