Two children drowned in a pond at Gangkanda village under Jamalpur Sadar upazila on Tuesday evening.
Two children drowned in a pond at Gangkanda village under Jamalpur Sadar upazila on Tuesday evening.
The deceased were identified as Himi, 6, daughter of Hira Mia, and Tasfia, 9, daughter of Kashem Ali of the village.
Locals said Himi and Tasfia went missing while playing on Tuesday afternoon. After some time, their bodies were found at a nearby pond around 6 pm.
Kazi Shahnewaz, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jamalpur Police Station, said two children of Gangkanda village drowned in a pond. The bodies were handed over to the families as there was no complaint from them.
