2 elderly men killed in Munshiganj road crash

Two elderly men were killed and another injured when a dump truck ran over them at Goyatala in Sirajdikhan upazila of Munshiganj district on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Nekbar Sarker, 65, and Kaiyum Dewan, 100, of the upazila.
The accident occurred around 6:30am in front of a two-storey mosque in Goyatala Dakshinpara when a brick-laden dump truck ran over three people as they were sitting on a bench near a shop after offering Fajr prayers, leaving one dead on the spot and two others injured, said Md Alauddin, officer-in-charge of Sirajdikhan Police Station.
Of the injured, Kaiyum died on the way to a local hospital, while Hashem received first aid.
On information, police seized the truck, but its driver managed to flee the scene, reports UNB.
