At least seven people were killed in a collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Mymensingh city on Friday afternoon.

The identities of the deceased could not be immediately ascertained, said Mohammad Shibirul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali Model Police Station.

Quoting locals, police said a Dhaka-bound bus of Rajib Paribahan from Jamalpur collided with an auto-rickshaw heading for Muktagacha in the Gandrapa area of Akua Bypass Road around 1:30pm.

The impact left the auto-rickshaw completely mangled, killing seven people on the spot.

Police rushed to the scene after being informed and recovered the bodies, the OC said. -UNB
