Eight DB men injured in Sherpur road accident

The accident occurred around 5:30pm in the Masha Ujan area when a Sakura Paribahan bus travelling from Barishal to Faridpur collided head-on with the motorcycle, which was heading towards Nagarkanda.

Fahim, who was riding the motorcycle, died on the spot, said Rosul Samdani Azad, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nagarkanda Police Station.

Rafiqul, the pillion rider, was rescued in critical condition and taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The accident disrupted traffic on the highway for about 30 minutes, causing long tailbacks on both sides of the road.

Later, highway police reached the scene, brought the situation under control and restored normal traffic flow.

The OC said the bus involved in the accident had been seized.

Further legal proceedings are underway in connection with the accident, he added, reports UNB.
