Two killed in Barishal road accident

An elderly woman and a child were killed in a road accident in Jayashree Bus Stand area under Ujirpur upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased were Roksona Yasmin, 63, wife of Kazi Pannu Mia and Arfa, 7, daughter of Rubel Kazi, residents of Jayshree area of ??the upazila.
The accident occurred around 12.30 pm on the Dhaka-Barishal highway when a speedy bus of 'Hanif Paribahan' hit two pedestrians while they were crossing the road.
Critically injured Roksona Yasmin and Arfa were taken to the upazila health complex where the doctors on duty declared both of them dead.
Arfa was on her way home from the West Jayshree Government Primary School when the accident occurred, reports BSS.
Officer-in-Charge of Uzirpur Model Police Station Rakibul Islam confirmed the matter and said that the incident is under investigation and necessary legal action is being taken.
