Houses and cropland of over 100 families are at risk of being devoured by a tributary of the Padma River in the Sadar upazila of Munshiganj district.
About an acre of crop field and a temple in Haldarkandi have gone under the waters in recent months, local said.

The Water Development Board blamed excessive water flow from the upstream for the destructive erosions.
