Ansar emerges champions in women's handball

Dhaka, 28 May - Bangladesh Ansar emerged champions in the EXIM Bank 33d National Women's Handball competition beating Panchagarh District Sports Association (DSA) by 41-24 goals in the final held Saturday at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city.

The winners' led the first half by 25-14 goals.

Sanzida Akter of the winning team was the highest scorer in the final
scoring twelve goals while Alpona Akter of the same team was name the best player of the final.

Besides, Bangladesh Police Handball Club finished runners-up in the meet in the place-deciding encounter.

Akhter Hossain, Senior Secretary of Public Security Division of Home
Ministry, was the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes.

Bangladesh Handball Federation's (BHF) president Nurul Fazal Bulbul
presided over the prize distribution ceremony.

BHF general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, BHF's vice president and organizing committee's chairman Nurul Islam, BHF's assistant general secretary and organizing committee's secretary Salahuddin Ahmed, were among others, also present in the closing ceremony.
